Lenoir Rotary Club Past - President Lee Chase awarded club member Bob Giduz the STAR Award for the month of May for his "service above self" in organizing the annual fundraiser called the Cycle to Serve bicycle challenge. Bob was pinned by STAR recipient Mary Kidder. The annual bike race is the club's biggest fundraiser of the year and was the brainchild of Giduz. Due to oustanding fundraising results, the club is able to participate in many community projects throughout the year.


Lenoir Rotary Club member Mary Kidder was recently named by Club President Lee Chase as the STAR Award recipient for the month of April. Mary serves on the Club Service Committee and is responsible for the weekly distribution of the club email and paper bulletins. This is a big job for a club with over 70 members. Mary is shown with her husband and club member Pete Kidder.

Lenoir Rotary Club member Don Weiller was pinned with the Rotary STARaward recently for his hard work on the district project called Honor Air.  The project is for the purpose of honoring WWII veterans with a day trip to the Washington DC memorials.  Don provided guidance before, during, and after the trip last fall.  The Western NC Rotary District 7670 has sponsored several Honor Air projects and hope to do more in the future.  Don is shown with club member Sandy Russ.

Lenoir Rotary Club recently awarded perfect attendance to two club members.  Dr. John Davis was pinned with 1 year and Bill Armfield was pinned with 36 years of perfect attendance.  Rotary International encourages regular weekly meeting attendance in order to foster member fellowship and club  involvement.  If a member is unable to attend, there are many ways to make up for the missed meeting including an "online" method that takes only 30-40 minutes to complete.  Congratulations to Bill and John for their dedication to Lenoir Rotary !

  Lenoir Rotary Club recently pinned six members for Perfect Attendance: Bob Giduz (17 years), Gene Gray (16 years), Rahn Chase (15 years) , Elaine Lockhart (13 years), Denise Long (1 year), and Richard Gardner (26 years).
